• We are fully licensed and insured.
  • We comply and follow all ANSI and Z133 standards for our industry.  All work performed conforms to these standards.
  • The arborist will visit the site to determine the plant health care, lawn care, and pruning/removal operations that need to be completed at the site.
  • Structure Prune and Shape- Pruning procedures completed on younger trees to train the tree to develop proper growth form and stability.  Develop or maintain dominant leader(s), ensure correctly spaced canopy branches, suppress branches with known included bark, remove deadwood, remove crossing and interfering branches, shape the tree.
  • Prune and Shape- This pruning operation is typically completed on established trees that are not in need of much deadwood removal or interior thinning.
  • General prune and Shape- Removal of dead, dying, diseased, remove crossing and interfering branches, prune long ends back to natural form to shape (natural form of tree), and thins the tree by 10-15%.
  • Hazard Prune or Deadwood only- Hazard pruning operation targets deadwood that is 2” and larger that may pose potential risks to target zone areas (property or lives).  Deadwood removal on pines and spruce is typically completed up 2/3rds of the tree, unless otherwise specified.
  • Natural Prune and Shape/Shearing- Natural pruning and shaping of shrubs vs. shearing, is determined based upon the species of the shrub and previous pruning operations completed.  Deadwood is removed and sometimes 1/3 of the new/oldest canes are removed to stimulate the shrub.  Shearing of evergreens and broadleaf evergreens is not recommended in the months November to the end of February.
  • Rejuvenation Pruning- Rejuvenation pruning is only an option for certain shrub species.  With this pruning operation, the shrub is pruned back to within 6-8” of the ground, so that the shrub may produce all new growth the following season.  This is best completed after leaf drop, or before leaf emergence in spring.
  • Saw off to a Low Stump- Tree is removed, typically to within 4” of the grade.
  • Stump Grinding- Stumps are typically ground out to a depth of 6-8” unless otherwise specified (such as replanting)
  • Cabling and Bracing- Procedures involving cabling and bracing of trees are typically one of the last options to consider, and only if a tree does not already have such devices installed.  Pruning, if possible, should be the first consideration.  Cables/bracing typically last 10-15 years and should be inspected every two years to ensure the stability and functionality of the devices.  Cabling and bracing are purely support mechanisms; they are not a guarantee of integrity or stability of the tree.  Once these devices have been installed in a tree, the tree grows to rely on them, and the devices must stay and be maintained.
  • Staking-When we install a new tree, the staking of the tree is determined by factors that include: location, size of the tree, size of the rootball, and the variety of the tree.  Staking materials should be removed once the tree has been in the ground for 1-2 years.
  • Planting: Plant material is subject to availability.  Perennials do not carry a one year warranty.  Trees and shrubs are provided with a one year warranty at the arborist’s discretion, unless otherwise specified.  Installation of the tree/shrub includes a one year warranty (if a warranty is purchased) from the date of planting and qualifies for a one time replacement if the tree/shrub dies. The warranty does not extend to damages due to acts god/partial death (including, but not limited to extreme temperature changes, hail, snow damage, flooding,) or improper maintenance (including, but not limited to over or under watering, and/or neglect).  Plant material canceled after it has been ordered is subject to an $85.00 restock fee.
  • Underground Utilities: American Arbor Care takes all precautions possible to limit the amount of damage to underground utilities by visual inspection during the estimating process and by contacting our local 811 services for locating underground utilities.  We are not responsible for low voltage landscaping wiring, any irrigation systems, underground dog fences, or drip lines that are not visible (or buried below ground).  Additional costs may be assessed for repairs to irrigation systems.
  • We guarantee our workmanship, however there are no guarantees for the longevity or survivability of maintaining living organisms that exist in an uncontrolled environment.
  • All Plant Health Care and Lawn Care pesticide applications are applied in accordance with the product manufacturer’s label.  The Label is the Law!
